The Physical Source of Infinities in Quantum Field Theory and Statistical Mechanics |

| Author: Y. Leblanc (eFieldTheory.COM) Email: AbstractA fundamental analysis of the physical source of infinities is carried out in the context of Quantum Statistical Mechanics (QSM) and Quantum Field Theory (QFT). A common source is identified, linked to the overcounting of the multi-particles contributions in both theories. A common solution is presented in order for both theories to become well-behaved, independently of renormalization theory. In type I interacting field theories (borrowing from the old Heisenberg-Oppenheimer classification of interactions) finite renormalization still can be carried out. In type II theories like Quantum Gravity, although not renormalizable, the theory is finite. Copyright © 2025 Yvan Leblanc. All rights reserved
